The New Maison, Baccarat
Moscow Russia
After the first Maison Baccarat, which opened in Paris in 2003, and several collections of objects and pieces of furniture, Moscow is the latest opus to emerge from the fruitful collaboration between the time-honored crystal manufacturer and this genius designer.
In a historic building on Nikolskaya Street, a former pharmacy established in the 18th century by decree of Tsar Peter the Great, Maison Baccarat is located in one of Moscow’s busiest and most prosperous districts.
As part of a development strategy to enter new markets, Baccarat decided to export its unique “Maison” concept to Moscow on the strength of the special links it has enjoyed with Russia since 1860. With his lavish orders for candelabras, fountains and sets of glassware, Tsar Nicholas II became one of the most important customers in the glasswork’s history and left a legacy of some of the finest pieces illustrating Baccarat’s remarkable know-how.

Baccarat is a significant source of inspiration for Philippe Starck, who has had no difficulty in transforming a location already brimming with history into the artistic vision inspired in him by the great luxury brand and showcasing its elegant style in a poetic and surrealist palace of crystal.

In an enchanting setting worthy of Alice in Wonderland, a crystal chandelier inside a tank reveals the spirit of this building that houses a boutique on the ground floor in which you will find the full range of Maison Baccarat collections and Baccarat Jewelry.
