The China Grill Chicago façade is just as immense and grand as their food. The 30 foot tall open glass window is inviting and the perfect spot for people watching. As you sit in the main bar, you will see people walk in front of you from all over the world. The magnificent skyscraper view is a sight for the eyes.

Many rows of Russian wine bottles sit on the shelves of granite walls. The combination of blue, red and green bottles provide a soothing visual effect. High ceilings and central ellipse make China Grill one of the most luxurious places in Chicago.

The main dining room is centered around a rectangular light that simulates a skylight. Beaded curtains hang from the light while the chef prepares the food in an open kitchen. For large parties, there is a striking table that sits behind the main bar. Colorful lights change as patrons dine of an eclectic world cuisine.

Customers will see an translucent wine cellar and bottles from the bar. Romantic candles set the mood for a chilling trendy experience. The soft cool colors of the bar provide an illustrious contrast to the red striped walls. Think hot and cold.

Since China Grill is located in the Hard Rock Hotel, the crowd consists mainly of international business travelers. Food is served in large portions and are meant to be shared family style. There are hints of Asian touches throughout the entire cuisine.

Lobster is served in a traditional Chinese banquet style with fried spinach and caviar. The beef tartar comes with a raw quail egg which is meant to be poured over the dish. Scallions give the dish an extra punch.

The signature skirt steak and short ribs were our favorite. A glass of wine can be recommended.

The desserts are to die for. To finish your meal, order the sampler which is a combination of chocolate mole, crème brulee and an assortment of delectable treats.
