The DLX team was invited on a trip of adventure and passion to experience the Buick Regal TourX, the latest in luxury wagons. With each model equipped with all-wheel drive, it’s the perfect car to drive through the mountains for those sporty road trips. With 73.5 cubic feet of storage space, there’s plenty of room for skis, poles, bags, snowboards — you name it.

“TourX has more storage capacity than its competitors (Volvo V60 Cross Country, Audi Allroad). It is the ultimate crossover because you get car-like driving dynamics and fuel economy, but the capability and versatility of an SUV. Best of both worlds,” says Mike Ofiara of Buick Communications.

Technology plays a big part in the Buick Regal TourX. The Bose premium 8-speaker system has incredible bass and showcases depth in sound. The OnStar 4G LTE has a built-in Wi-Fi spot for those who want to log on to the internet. This was very useful and fast since we had some emails that we needed to tend to. With OnStar, you press a button and an operator asks you where you want to go. Once you tell them the place, the coordinates are downloaded into the car instantly.

“We are targeting upscale, active buyers, professional adults and millennials, 28-50, whose dogs are as likely to be their passengers as friends or family. They are bookends – young couples delaying adulthood and empty nesters furthering their active lifestyles,” explains Ofiara.

When driving through the cold, use the heated steering wheel. Yes, the car comes equipped with heated seats, too. If your phone has wireless charging capabilities, drop your phone into the dock and let it charge. You don’t even need to plug it in. With a 2.0L, 250-HP turbocharged engine, this car has the power to blaze through those mountain roads.

We took a quick hour flight to Phoenix, Arizona and drove 2 hours to magical city of Sedona. Sedona is located in the high desert at an elevation of 4,326’. Gorgeous red rock formations surround dense pine forests with hundreds of hiking and biking trails. For lovers of the outdoors, the mild climate of Sedona and picturesque scenery create an absolutely breathtaking vista as far as the eye can see.

When asked why Sedona was chosen for the excursion, Ofiara said, “Sedona’s picturesque Red Rock landscape and outdoor adventurous personality is a perfect fit for the TourX with its standard Intelligent AWD with active-twin clutch, powerful 2.0T engine, roof rack and 73.5 cu. ft. of cargo capacity that can swallow anything you can throw its way or put on the roof rack. We wanted to showcase the TourX in a way that customers who own cars in this segment would do in their daily lives, Sedona was a perfect match for that.”

Sedona is known as a vortex which is a center of swirling energy. People from all over the world come to this vortex to heal themselves, to explore and to be inspired. This energy has made Sedona sacred and powerful. It is not a surprise that this small town has become a magnet for artists and healers. The highlight of the trip was biking through the canyons of red rocks.

Hermosa Tours took us an adventure of a lifetime through the high desert. We cruised up and down steep rocky terrain, over large rocks and rich soil using Santa Cruz Mountain Bikes. We rode through the Little Horse Trailhead to Bell Rock. At about 4000 feet elevation, the high desert had thin fresh air but riding through that creative vortex was good for our soul.
